EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This dynamic therapy has been used for decades all around the world to bring people relief from symptoms of PTSD, and has many other applications with issues like anxiety, phobias, grief, OCD, and even addiction and compulsive habits.

EMDR works directly with the autonomic nervous system (ANS) which plays a huge role in emotional regulation, fight or flight response, and memory processing and storage. Many symptoms of trauma and other conditions are rooted in this system being overwhelmed, improperly processing events, and creating unhelpful associations and stimulus responses.

Clients of EMDR therapy often experience significant changes in emotional response and thought patterns that once felt insurmountable and permanent.

Your counselor can assess you for possible EMDR treatment and create a customized plan for therapy.

Available for in person appointments in Loveland, and teletherapy for all of Colorado.
